Countdown to PSL 8: Replacement Draft to take place on January 24th

The countdown is on for the much-awaited Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8! And with the tournament just around the corner, fans are eagerly waiting for the PSL 8 draft to take place. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been closely monitoring the international cricket schedule. That’s why they decided to hold the Replacement Draft on January 24th. In a recent press conference, PCB management committee chairman Najam Sethi announced the schedule for the tournament, which will take place from February 13th to March 19th in Karachi, Multan, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.

One of the most exciting changes for this year’s tournament is the increase in the number of players per side. The PCB has approved the request of franchises to increase the pool of players. They allow each franchise to pick two additional Supplementary players. This means that each team will now have a squad of 20 players. The Supplementary players will be picked in the Replacement Draft.

“The Supplementary players will be picked in the Replacement Draft, which will take place on Tuesday, 24 January,” the PCB released in a statement.

As for the venues, Rawalpindi will host the most matches (11), while Karachi and Lahore will host nine matches each. Multan, on the other hand, will host five matches, and the opening ceremony will take place there for the very first time.
